i just bought a ls6 intake that hasent been installed yet and i was thinking about painting it blue. is there a certain type of paint i should use or one that is better then another

WicketMike, get the Dupli Color Metal Cast Anodized Blue. You will need to get the Metal Cast Silver Base Coat and lay that down first but I'm real sure you will love the way it looks when it is done. I did mine rather quickly with little prep time and it came out pretty good.

Thanks Unit I had to have a little bling under the hood with this many blingin LS1's around here.I will be finishing up the engine install tomorrow. I didn't work on it today, was kinda of tired after working on it sat and sun. I sure hope it starts up with no problems. I want to enjoy the sound of this new engine, God knows I have been working on it for a long time.

Needs chrome to set it off.. I would chrome the following:
Water pump pully
Throttle cable bracket
Tensioner washer and bolt
T-stat housing
misc bolts
And I would get the billet pulley from Turn One and have it chromed or polished..
The chrome would really set off that red color on the motor

Steve me likes those recomendations. I wonder if the local low rider shops can do chroming, we have a ton of those shops around here. Chrome

frcefed, if you want a set of stock valve covers to cut the bosses off of i have an extra set sittin in the shop. actually 2 but the other set i already cut them off of. i'd let ya have my other set really really cheap if you wanna do that.
