Hey guys, hope you can help.
I bought Nitto 315 35 17 drag radials, and wanted
just a little bit bigger tire.
Dammmm these things are huge.
Has anyone put them on 17X9 rims????
Will they work and will they look right???
thanks guys. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

I doubt 315's would fit on a 9" rim safely.. too much side load and you loose the bead.. bad thing.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Call a Goodyear tire place (or equivelent) and ask what the minimum wheel width for a 315 is.. im sure it needs to be AT LEAST a 10" wide rim..
Even if it did fit it would look goofy i would think..

I have them on mine, they fit fine and from what I have been told somewhat narrower then others. I highly recommend it, so far they have performed excellent.

I think they look ok. I would do it. They only drawback is not being able to rotate them and replacing 315's is no picknic.

Yes, but the tread measure almost 12 inches and
the rim is only 9.
I don't want the sidewalls curled up and only
9 inches on the ground looking pinched.
Has anyone done this??
The tires alone were $366.
I can send them back and get 275s if I have to. <img border="0" alt="[Pontiac]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" />

I have 315's on my stock WS6 rims and they fit fine and look bad ***. Only downfall is you prolly have about a 1/2" on tread unused, but that's it. If you do it, don't plan on cornering fast, it's not a good idea.

I have seen that combo and I do not like it. The tires are clearly too big, should be on a 17x10-11. On a 17x10-11 rims like the ZR1 rims the tires looks badass.

Ive even heard of some shops refusing to mount a tire that falls out of spec for insuance liablily reasons..
I know people have done it but I cant fathom taking the chance.. the last thing i want to worry about when cornering is that my tire will come off!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Re: Nitto 315s on a 17X9 rim ??????
They might recommend it and so would I, but my 315's said right on the label stuck to the tires that a minimum wheel width was 9.5". That's why I posted "minimum rating" and not recommended. In fact I'm running them on 9.5" wheels and their wearing pretty good across the tire, but a 10" would of been better.
