Default How to remove waterspots from hood?

I was out of town for a week and my relatives had parked my car next to the damn sprinklers outside so I have em pretty bad. how do you remove waterspots if they have been on there for a week?

I tried washing and waxing, maybe do it a few times?

Thanks

Wax will just seal the waterspots in.
Wash with Dawn liquid dishwashing soap and clay bar the car. Then wax or Zaino.

Mix a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. The vinegar will break down the lime deposits which is what the spots are made of. That won't remove your wax either - Dawn will.

Dawm WILL NOT remove zaino, this is what the zaino rep posted before.

Dawn will remove Zaino, if the Zaino rep doesn't know that I wonder how he can sell anything. We all know car soap will slowly strip Zaino. Dawn is nothing but a very strong soap, common sense would tell me that the Zaino would just be stripped even faster.

For water spots I use a mild polish. As long as my car is dried right after it's washed I never have a problem with spotting. I don't like the smell of vinegar.

I had that problem on my black top. Maguire's makes a three stage wax system I'm sure we are all familiar with, the first stage is a paint cleaner... THIS STUFF IS AWSOME! It even took of a tread mark on my hood that I tried everything else on with no problem. I highly recomend it.

Go to your local glass shop and they should have a glass polisher... messy stuff but works great....

I got the inexpensive Rain-X glass polish, I saw it in K-Mart and picked it up. Works really well but it directs you to wet the windows before applying the product where the other polishes can be used on a dry window which is cleaner.
