I just spray it down with some Simple Green, let it sit about 5 minutes, then hose it off. Power Washers work well also, just try your best to avoid anything electrical when spraying directly.

Its an automotive degreaser thats enviormentally friendly, which makes it really safe for engines. You shouldn't have to scrub after letting it sit, but sometimes I give it a follow-up wipe.

Just be really careful. You can screw up a lot of things by cleaning the motor. I trashed one of the idler pullies by getting water in it. Cover up the fuse boxes and PCM. And don't spray directly on wires, even if they are in wire loom.

and definately NO HIGH PRESSURE

keep everything down to the low pressure spot free rinse that you get at the car wash....with out squeezing the trigger....takes a little time...but its safer and smarter

Simple Green can be found at any auto store..

Let it sit then rinse off, DEFIENTLY keep the water away from the electrials and pulleys...
