need Z28 emblem ideas
need Z28 emblem ideas I have got a black '02 Z28. Of course, the Z28 emblems are also black and they don't stand out at all. If the car didn't have that orange bowtie on the back a person might think I have a V6. Give me some ideas of what I can do as far as decals, vintage emblems, colors, etc... to make the emblems stand out.

Re: need Z28 emblem ideas You can do it with a hair dryer and some fishing line. I had a body shop take mine off. They had a little flexible rubber "spatula" that went onto the end of a pneumatic air chisel. They lubed the area real good as they went with car wash solution/water, and in about 30 seconds each, the emblems were gone. Then they cleaned off the residual glue with "OOPS" (or something of the like). My emblems are mounted through the fenders by the studs on the back of the emblem. Of course you can just cut the studs off and use some 3M emblem tape if you wish.

I got those from camarosandclassics.com, but there are several places just like them to order them from. Those folks were real nice. The total for all three emblems plus shipping came out to be about 100 bucks, but would have been a little cheaper if I had gotten the reproductions rather than the OEM versions.
If you decide to order them do not do as I did the first time and order a rear "spoiler" emblem to go on the back. The "spoiler" emblem has a slanted mounting surface to fit the original 1970-74 cars. I thought the emblem was flat when I looked at the pictures on their website. All three of the emblems on my car are the fender emblems.

You can certainly attach ther emblems to the fenders by way of 3M emblem tape if you like. This is what I told the body shop to do when I dropped the car off to have them put the emblems on(I would have put them on myself, but they were painting my hood, so I figured I would let them worry with it). The shop called me a few hours later though and the tech said he thought that it would look better if I let him install the emblems through the fender and snug the emblem down onto the fender rather than having tape between the emblem and fender. Anway that is what we did. My emblems are installed with their studs THROUGH the fender.
The rear emblem is stuck on with emblem tape, but I assure you, it will not come off at the car wash.
