Polishing SLP CME Tip???
Polishing SLP CME Tip??? How do you do it? I just sanded the lips smooth. What do you need to polish them up with? Also can I spray a coat of clear on after I have polished it all up? Thanks for the help, Trevor
I used a series of grits on 3/4" sanding drum (1/4"
shank, in a drill) until I got to the finest, then hand
sanded from 220 to 600 grit, then Mother's.
The castings have some degree of porosity so you
will never get a perfect mirror finish, not like wheels
that are of higher quality aluminum. But "shiny
enough". For about a week, before they soot up.
Or if you've pulled the cats, more like tar.
If I had it to do over again I would just get them
powdercoated black. You're buying yourself another
regular chore otherwise.

true. it will need cleaning often seeing that it is under the car and will gather quite a bit of road grime. but will look good if clean!
