removing rear seats, help
Im sorry that I dont know the exact size offhand. Maybe someoene else can chime in.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do, to clean up those 2 bare metal area's where the bottom cushions used to be? Seems to me like 2 nitrous bottles could mount to those spots nicely

watch out for those torx bolts on that attach the belt to the seat. they are extremly easy to strip.... nicely

I bought some torx screwdrivers and I was not able to loosen those seatbelt bolts that are attatched to the seats. I am gonna have to look for a t30 socket and use a breaker bar. I popped a blood vessel in my eye using the torx screw driver with no success and it looks like I have pink eye.

Then after I had worked one out, I remembered I had an air impact wrench :sillyme: and ZOOOMMMMM....the seats were out....I felt REALLY stupid when I thought off that.

1. Use a 1/2 socket to remove the 2 screws holding down the lower back seats (bottom center of the seats).
2. Remove both lower seats
3. Use a T50 Torx Bit to remove the 2 bolts holding the lower part of the seat belt mechanism.
3. Use a 1/2 socket to remove the lower part of the upper back seat (where it tilts)
4. Use a 11/16 drive (with a 3 inch extension is handy) to remove the unit that holds the upper part of the seat belts (by the rear speakers).
5. Remove upper seat
It took less time of me to take the seats out than it did to go to Sears and wait in line to buy the T50 Torx bit.
My car is a 2002, so it is pretty new, and everything came out easy.
I left the carpet in, and IMHO it does not look "ghetto". I took it out because 1) I generally never have people back there 2) I want to keep it away from the elements and exposure, less stuff to clean 3) I can fit more cargo back there, plus I dont have to worry about damaging or scuffing the seats. 4) Weight reduction
