I used an actual caliper paint kit, the brush on works much better in my experience. It smooths out really well, and I followed mine up with some high temp clear.

Now my calipers look good, and are easier to clean than my wheels... just sprays right off...

honestly i just bought a can of red paint at OSH for 2.99. scrubbed the calipers with soapy water and a wire brush and sprayed away. 2 light coats did it for me.

Mine have two coats of VHT caliper paint on them. Just clean them real good before. I didn't clear mine, but a lot of guys do. Mine aren't too bad to keep clean, I just wipe them down when I wash the car.

What you have will work fine.

I used both caliper paint, and high-temp engine paint. Both worked well.

VHT lasts for a very long time. The only thing it ever does is chip from wheel removal, but nothing really helps that.

I used Folia Tec caliper paint. It's a high temp 2 part epoxy that you mix and brush on. Dries smooth with a very high gloss and comes in many different colors. It has been on my car for years and still looks the same as when I did it.

I used caliper paint. I put seven coats on the front and five in the rear. Looks very smooth and glassy, and feels like rubber for some reason, meh.
