window tint question I am thinking about tinting my windows but the law in ohio only allows 50% tint on side windows! Is this even worth doing? Also if anyone one has any pics of tinted f-body's please post along with tint %.
Who pays attention to tint laws anyway. 50% is barely noticeable when the suns out. If your worried about tickets just get 35%. Ive been rollin 5% on the rear and 20% on the sides for the longest with no issues but my windows are usually down or t-tops off. If you've already been through inspection get whatever tint you want it all depends on your luck if you get a ticket or not. I think 20% all around looks nice on f-bodies.
I know plenty of guys around here running well below 50% without any problem. That laws a joke anyway. If you get pulled over for it just tell them you bought it that way and hope for the best. Generally the police have better things to do than pull over "tint violators". However if you get pulled over for something else you might get a tint ticket since he had to stopped anyway.

I have done 5% on almost every car I have owned.
Cops do get bored, and they do give you tickets - I consider it a luxury tax when I pay one
IMHO lighter than 20% is not worth it - 20 in the rear and 35 on the sides is OK though.

look into a medical exemption. we have them in florida, if you have a cool dr he will sign it and no more tickets. i have 5% on sides and back and 30% down the whole windshield.

can you even get 50%? Thats the law in VA and i didnt even think it was possible. I've run nothing clearer than 20% and have never had issues in my state. VA on the other hand is horrible, so i guess it depends on how the cops are and how lucky you are. I'd say break the law...
Yea, there is 50% tint. And although I'm sure that all you care about is darkness...you can get a metalized 50% film that rejects/blocks more heat than 5% film.
You start to care about that stuff more the older you get. I have 35% on mine all the way around and actually think it looks as good or better than anything else. Just me though.

Here in Wisconsin we can have 35% on the back windows and 50% on the front windows, none on the windshield.
But I had 15% all around on my Grand Prix and a strip on the windshield that came down about 8" that was also 15% and I never got messed with, but I don't drive like an *** in town. But I know of guys that have had 20% and got pulled over all the time and tickets for tint simply because they couldn't stop being dumb when they drive around toen.
My camaro will have 15% all around here pretty soon as soon as I unload some 20" tires I don't need

Here in Nebraska we got what i think is 35 out back and 20 on the sides. no tinting on front. i've got 5 rear 5 sides. During daylight you can only see in if your right next to it.i'd say 5 on the sides is a little too low. If someone at night without lights on comes on your side...you may be SOL.

I don't know why these guys are calling that law a "joke". I had 20% on the side windows and 35% on the rear window of my old camaro and a cop stopped me (here in ohio) and hit me with a $160 ticket. Not more than two hours later i'm driving through another city and another damn cop stoppes me for the same thing! I had to show him i just got a ticket to get out of another one! Personally i think it depends on which city(s)you drive in that determines how strict they are.
