Default *Teaser pic*

I will be spending the next week or two on this car. Thought I'd put up a teaser pic for now

This is after 2 compounding steps with M105 and yellow SOLO Wool pad on the Makita rotary. It removed most of the deep scratches, but there is still a lot left. I will be wetsanding this part, and likely most of the car as well.

*added wetsanding pics at bottom*

After wetsanding and compounding. No polishing yet!

Yeah, the before pic looks real rough. What happened? It looks like you drove it through the woods.

It sat in a field for 2-3 years with no engine or transmission in the Chico area where it's super hot. Also has been in Oklahoma and Reno, so all dry, hot and dusty places. Plus when it was sitting nobody really kept the car up, just was on the back burner for the owners.

When you wetsand the car it takes some of the clear off right?
Is that bad for the car if you were to leave it outside daily?

Yes it does. You have to be careful to not remove too much, as most of the protective stuff in the clear settles at the top. As long as you keep it up with a wax or sealant consistantly it will be fine.
