i got ddmtuning off of an import based website on a discussion about what hid kits are best. there were several people who had good things to say about ebay sellers, and a few people about local vendors. i personally bought from a local vendor, its a good kit in an expensive looking box. in the end i would still reccomend DDMtuning because they are the price leader and service leader with a lifetime warranty. i paid a little more from a local vendor, but i was in need at the last second before i was leaving town i had a silverstar blow out and he delivered them on the spot. i paid about $90, and i got fortunate the kit has been great
now what seperates a good kit and a bad kit? i have a friend who sells the cheap kits on ebay to people locally, and they do not hold their color. what do i mean by that, well his 6k kits turn light purple, the 10k kits turn light blue, and the 5k kits turn yellow. he can get me bulbs for $12.99 each, but they are poorly made.
a "good kit" can be a simple as someone you know having one. a long as the bulbs dont fade, and the ballasts arent prone to flickering, most kits are the same. however i would recommend DDMtuning because they have sold hundreds of thousands of kits on honda-tech.com and on dsmtuners and have a lifetime warranty
there arent many big selling sites, but ddmtuning.com is one of them

I am about ready to start piecing together my kit soon. I ordered some H4 projector housings with bulbs off ebay for 30 bucks. Then after I see if they fit or not I am going to get some Bi-Xenon dual beam HID's off ebay too. I think they go for 80. So I will have around 110 wrapped up in what I hope to be a good HID conversion. I'll post pics when I start getting stuff in.

"You can't buy a system with a smaller ballast. Fully digital, draws less than 6 amps at start up and 3.4 amps at normal operating temperature. This system provides 3200-3400 Lumens at 35 watts and an amazing 5000 Lumens at 55 watts per bulb. In comparison, a typical halogen bulb produces 900-1200 lumens". DDMTuning.com

^So apparently the 55W has more light output. You should be fine with the 35W anyway so don't freak out. Another important factor is the temperature you got (6000K, 8000K, etc) As you go up the Kelvin scale there's less light output. You get the most output around 4300K - a pure white.

Also H4 HID kits (and other so-called "bi-xenon" HID kits) intended for dual filament halogen applications are poor options.
I've seen four kinds of so-called "bi-xenon" HID kits designed for dual filament applications:
1.) One fixed/non-movable HID capsule
You lose high beam but its position and resulting pattern is like the high beams are stuck on and you are blinding everyone.
2.) One HID capsule for low beam and One Halogen bulb for high beam attached to same base
Neither is positioned correctly and the high beam bulb is not replicable. Sucks for you if it blows.
3.) Two HID capsules on one base. Neither is positioned correctly and you have way too much light coming out for high beam and you can't flash-to-pass because HID starts up slowly and you can damage the bulbs and ballasts from frequent flashing.
4.) One Movable HID capsule often with a built-in shield/cap. This is the "best" of these options because it tries to put the arc in close to the correct position for high/low operation. The capsule will move depending on whether you have the high or low beam activated. The beam pattern is still not good, but not as bad as the above options.
