There is a shop around my house, that does the same thing for $20. They are the best around, and are really cool hippies lol

I got my entire exhaust y-pipe back put on for 35 lol. Everything welded up. 137 is just crazy for anybody to charge to put exhaust tips on.

ya well i just looked at my old tips and they are ****.

They told me they weren't welded on just clamped and that they would just heat them up and pop them off!

I was going to put them away today and each tip has 2 big cuts in it and its basically junk so i wouldn't be able to put them back on ever.

Pretty pissed about that and will be talking with them tomorrow

that might have been the only way for the guy to get them off. If exhaust pipe is clamped together for a long time it might as well be welded together. He should have called you before cutting them though, just to ask if you wanted him to continue or not.

I had my whole TD system put on, adjusted, then I had to go buy new clamps and come back and they re adjusted it all for $50.

You got taken man, sucks but it sounds like they did a really top notch job and it won't ever had to be done again.

I would go back to them and have them adjust them, no charge. you paid a lot of money, it should be perfect.

I am confused here.... what size inlets do the tips have? Looks like one hell of a step down in pipe size to mount them....

SLP exhausts have 2.5" tailpipes and if you have the single tips I think they are like 3.5" tips....that does not look like 2.5" pipe they are mounting them to, so what is it?...

What kind of exhaust is on the car??....

Very nice looking car BTW...

thats slp exhaust. it is like a 3-3.5 inch diameter and those are like 2.5 i think. so there is a step down...and ya when i go back up ill be going to see them and tell them to do it right. I know they are a bit far out and i think they should be back about an inch or so.

Man, all the SLP exhaust I have ever seen has 2.5" pipe at the tails...and the TIPS are 3 or 3.5".... Im not sure what you have, but I assure you that its not an SLP Cat-Back...

^^^ I think GOR1LA may have an SLP exhaust bc I have those same tips from a C6. The C6 tips are only 2'' at the inlet...thats why the adapter is needed since the SLP is 2 1/2 inches after the muffler. I think he is just unsure of the different sizes of the pipes.

Well if thats the case it would sure rub me the wrong way to step down to a 2" restriction right at the tip...

If I were Gorilla I would sell those tips and pick some up with at least a 2.5" inlet...sure he would have to cut his losses, but thats a sweet looking car and worth doing it right (ie. no rusty clamp on a stepped down tip)... and if he picks up some 2.5" ones he can probably install them himself by the looks of it..

locally, they usually charge 10 bucks a weld. so that job would been like 20 bucks for labro and whatever parts is, so like 40 or so bucks.

I was charged $20 to cut off my old tips, and install the clones on the z28. took about 30 minutes, takes awhile to cut through 3" pipe lol
