I *believe* it takes an Allen wrench to remove that. Hope that helps.

Its actually a rivit that has to be drilled out.

Does the car smell at all? Even after its been sitting out in the sun?

Mine didnt. But I painted mine & waited a few days before driving it. I'd say the smell should be bad if you let your panels 100% dry outside the car before putting them back in. There might be a light hint but not like painting them in the car & the vapors filling the cabin.
