96 Camaro Lights
The lighting at night from my car sucks really bad. What can I do to get better lighting for the road. HID? What all is involved is it just buying lights or what? They just are horrible and i have dealt with it for 5 years but its to hard to see at night now.

Check out the Lighting FAQ and do some searching. There has been some discussion on Lighting Upgrades in the past.

The Forums at HID Planet is also a good place to check out on HID retrofits.

You can buy conversion housings or make your own.
Eurolaps and some other companies make conversion housings.
Here is how you can make your own:

Those ebay bulbs are cheap, but I wonder if those are really 100watt or 100watt look-a-like... which means stock wattage bulbs (55watt) that due to the blue tint making the color of the light output whiter similar to what the color of a real 100watt bulb might be..... basically and optical illusion since they aren't any brighter only whiter. I'd recommend emailing them for confirmation. If they are really just stock-wattage, their output will probably be the same as stock or worse. They'll be whiter though which is a bit of an optical illusion to trick people into thinking they are brighter.
Stick with clear bulbs for better output. Upgrading the wiring will also help. Using higher-than-stock-wattage bulbs pretty much requires upgraded wiring or you run the risk of melting the stock wires.
