i removed my old tint since it got really cloudy and purple, i really want to tint the whole car 5% but these strips are gonna kill it!! who knows how to remove them??? i heard you can remove them with a flat razor

If you have the ***** to put a razor on your window, yes I believe it would work, but theres a 99% chance you mark up your window.

A good tint shop should be able to work around it and make it completely unnoticeable, though.

i got my c5 tinted as dark as possbile and looked alright the red orange stripe is more noticeable tho , iwould just like to have a nice all black rear window for the camaro

You could always find a junked camaro that didn't have the option, then have a glass shop swap it out. Might be cheaper than a new rear window.

I have, my last car didn't have it. Chances are a 1LE wouldn't have it.

They made a lot of cheap V6 strippers with no options(crank windows, etc) Now I'm just curious, but is the rear glass from a Firebird/Trans Am interchangable with a Camaro?

My rear window has aftermarket 5% tint with a rear defroster. Hasn't caused any problems in the 4 years I've had the car. No bubbling or loose spots.

Assuming that razor blades work fine on the exterior of glass windows, wouldn't it be the same for the inside?

damn i tried to take it off today but no luck... i only took out some laier of it but not the whole thing... anyone know how to actully take off the strip??? it feels like it can come off... maybe use some heat???

I've got a factory plain jane v6, even it has the rear defroster, despite having hubcaps from the factory, manual seats, crank windows, you name it.

I had a car with no rear defroster. It was possible to get the rear hatch without the rear defrost.

Buddy has a '99 Z without the defrost options and it looks real clean. Just seems like a pain in the *** to remove.

Its really hard to remove those. They are cured onto the glass from the factory. I used to work in a tint shop, and had to remove one one time. Trust me, 9 hours later its not worth it.
