Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ?

Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ? Between the Air Box and the hood intake is a peice of plastic that is held in by pop rivits. now can i take this out for better air entry, or is this gonna screw my car up ? thanks for the input.

Re: Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ? I took the rear baffles out ofmine and haven't had any probs... I'm leary about taking both sets of baffels out because I do drive my car in the rain...

Re: Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ? I did the same thing to mine 4 yrs. ago,and I still haven't had any problems.But there is one thing I can tell you.... Once you cut the baffles the K&N Air Filter picks up alot more dirt.I have already had to replace mine once,and I almost always drive in the rain.

Re: Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ? rear baffles only, if you take them both out and drive in the rain your screwed. I've heard taking the rear one out does quite a bit for ya.

Re: Cutting the plastic out of the Ram Air ? I took all mine out about a week ago.. made some plexy glass inserts for the rain and im set to go rain or shine.. who needs the extra ram air for rainy days n e way!

I got the brian green mod..he makes a kit to seal up the ram air hood..its pretty slick..I also took out the back and front baffles..he sells a rainblocker plate if you drive in heavy rain..light rain is no problem.I also use a holley filter as the foam or guaze oil type will stop water from getting in the engine.
