Anyone know how to reprogram a key fob on a 4th gen F-body a friend lost one of his and he got another one from a bone yard and the dealer wants $35 to reprogram the new key fob. If this post doesn't belong in this form moderators please move to the proper form.

I thought it was easy. In my freind's Buick LaSabre owners manual it tells you how. I thought it was something like hold down both lock and unlock buttons next to the car for 7 seconds. The horn should beep when done. Double check the owners manual.

Joe, I dug out the olde owners manual for the SS, the coordiantion of the transmitters is a lot different now.

TO MATCH TRANSMITTERS TO YOUR VEHICLE:

1. Turn ignition to RUN, then to OFF. This will disarm alarm system.

2. Remove the Radio fuse. The fuse is located in the panel on the drivers side of the dash board.

3. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times, within 5 seconds, The vehicle will respond by locking the doors, unlocking the driver's door and release the trunk. Leave the ignition in RUN.

4. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK butttons on the first transmitter for 15 seconds. The vehicle will respond as in Step 3.

5. Repeat step 4. for the remaining transmitters.

6. When done matching ALL your transmitters, replace Raido fuse.

7. Check that ALL transmitters work correctly.

i needed this, the Z i just bought was missing the transmitters, and the dealership just took one off a set of keys to a chevy truck, and told me to get it programmed myself....bastids.
