Hey Jonas!

Here's my Dual DVD Flip out. The iPod hookup is a regular iPod cable that's run to my glovebox. You can then access the iPod from the head unit using the touchscreen. It charges it too.

Here it is closed

and open

It recently won't take a CD anymore though..

That's what removable faceplates are for?

Just like 1995blacktattop my RCA unit has a usb slot on the front.

I just ordered an Alpine IDA-X305 yesterday to replace my Sony head unit. I ordered it specifically to work with an iPod since it has no capability to play CDs. You can change the illumination to red.

If you do a search in the Stereo and Electronics section, someone has a picture posted up of this head unit in a Trans Am lit up in red.

Ahhh c'mon guys. Jonas, idk if it's been stated, but if you want to retain the factory steering wheel controls, you need a PAC adapter. Let me see if I can find it for you.

Edit: There are a bunch on this page. Click here. Just read the description to find which one you need.

Touche my automotive friend.
Guess if ya got the dough for 2 cars ya got enough to spend on it too

Crutchfield is the place to be for car audio imo HUs particularly, although all other parts of my system are from Kee.

Both are very good. Crutchfield has the best customer support and a huge variety of items, I get all my audio stuff from them. However, Kee is very good as well from what I hear, and he has stuff specifically for us, which is great.

I love my pioneer set up. I kept it clean and the hook up for the ipod is in the glove box. The unit also has a BT connection that works perfect with my iphone.. mic is mounted on the steering column. Highly recommend the headunit mount too!

Here is my set up... These pics are pretty old so I will have to get some updated ones

The ipod connects in the glove box and you can control the ipod through the radio or using the buttons on the steering wheel. Pretty bad *** flipping though your artists, playlists, songs, etc and it all come up on screen

WHEEL COVER IS GONE... Was on there when I bought it... Dont freak out... GONE

This is just the trunk... I have also changed out ALL my speakers and also added 6 more

in the car audio install department at the back of best buy. they sell (or did when i bought that one in 2004) a flat recessed in 1.5 to 1.0 din reducer. it was only like $15-$20 IIRC. (i paid ~ $50 for that adaptor plus the wiring harness plus the antenna adaptor). in fact, that adaptor is one of the reasons i wouldn't let best buy do a "free install" on the stereo i have now that i bought in the summer of 2006. they said i'd have to buy a new wiring harness and new faceplate adaptor. so a free install would have been a $35 install replacing parts that were still perfictly good. i told them since i installed the first stereo myself and know the factory wiring is good, i'll just cut the crimps off the wiring harness adaptor i already had and rewire it to the new deck's harness. i think it cost me $5 for new red connectors and electrical tape.

FWIW my stereo illuminates red. it's a little darker red than the gauges but its pretty close.

I had it custom made... I dont like the boring look so I figured some embossing would make it stand out a bit more... Best part is I can slide the T-tops right in between the amp deck and the subs
