I bought a set of Hella Optilux's for about $50. I posted a writeup on exactly how to do the upgrade.

I'd recommend avoiding ebay altogether, especially options 5 & 6. SilverStar are overpriced, overrated, and short lived. Option 6 is a crap bulb painted blue.

Check out DDM Tuning for HID kits.

If you want to go ebay, this is the one I used.

I bought the kit from another member here, but it worked great and was easy to install

When you order the bulbs, do you get 9005 like stock or do you need to get another one for the HID kit?

Order the bulb that you want to replace. If you have 9005 Halogen bulbs, you need a 9005 HID Kit.

Although, I would recommend staying away from putting HID into Halogen Reflector Housings, but many people on here do it anyway.

I'm not sure what bulbs you guys use. But I ordered my HIDs from vvme.com. They come off kinda fishy. But my lights shipped from Hong Kong, and got to CA in like 3 days. Paid 120 bucks for single beam headlights and fog lights, both 6k temp. On other forums I've heard nothing but good thing about them.

Sup homie! These are the ones I recommend to everyone

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Slim-...1%7C240%3A1318

Digital slim ballasts are very reliable. Their also 100% plug and play. You'd have to buy them, then send him a message in ebay/paypal that you want an 880 kit.

Click on the link for HID kits instead of the link for complete headlights. Its the second link under "featured products" on the home page. Then on the page that loads, on the right, select the bulb size, color, and wattage that you want. OEM HID setup are 35watt 4300K. Some people go with other colors and higher wattage. I'd recommend sticking in the 4000k - 5000k range for the best output. 55watt has higher output than 35watt, but puts out more heat and not all housings can handle it.

Camaro
Low beam: 9006
High Beam: 9005

So if you want a OEM-looking HID from that site: 35watt 4500K 9006

Prices start at $65.

Wait... you are putting these in a Firebird? You need conversion housings or projectors. There currently isn't an all-in-one setup for the Firebird to replace the stock sealed beam headlights. I and others have installed projectors. Others have used conversion housings. Some conversion housings handle HID ok but not great, others handle it really badly (horrible glare). If you search around on here you'll find plenty of threads. You can also check out the Lighting FAQ.

Firebird
Low Beam: 4703
High Beam: 4701
These are sealed beam units, not small bulbs like on the Camaro or more other modern cars.

Sorry for the confusion, when I saw references to 9005/9006 bulbs, I thought you had a Camaro.... then I noticed your sig.

If you only want to do your fogs, the stock fog light bulb is 880. So the appropriate HID kit would be an 880. Many people have put HID in the stock fog light housings with varying success. Some had melted housings.

I'd like to see some beam pattern pics of HID in the stock T/A fog light housings. I suspect its conical instead of low & wide.
