EBAY fog hid kit/conversion WHICH ONE!?
Firebird
Low Beam: 4703
High Beam: 4701
These are sealed beam units, not small bulbs like on the Camaro or more other modern cars.
Sorry for the confusion, when I saw references to 9005/9006 bulbs, I thought you had a Camaro.... then I noticed your sig.
I'd like to see some beam pattern pics of HID in the stock T/A fog light housings. I suspect its conical instead of low & wide.
great info!!!! thats what i needed!

im looking to get out cheap so i guess ill just buy a 4703 HID kit (i can use my current stock head light, right?)
OR do i have to go with projectors or an aftermarket housing for trans ams?
6-8k one of the two have not decided yet..
If you want HID LOW BEAMS, you will need to take out your factoey Sealed Beam housing (meaning that it's sealed, you cannot just change a bulb, that whole thing practically is your "bulb") then you would need to replace with a Sealed Beam conversion housing. A company called Eurolights sells these, you could also find some on ebay probably. THEN, depending on the kind of conversion housing, (meaning what kind of bulb type it replaces it with) you will need to get an HID kit matching that bulb type. Fore example, if you get an H7 EuroLight sealed beam conversion housing, you will need an H7 HID kit.
Search for my writeup, I think it's called "Firebird Non-Projector HID." It should give you an idea. If you REALLY want awesome lights, then you can ditch the seaked beam housings completely, and replace them with projectors. This takes more fabricating, and I know nothing about it. There are a bunch of things about projectors in the Lighting FAQ, VIP also knows his way around those quite well.

Digital slim ballasts are very reliable. Their also 100% plug and play. You'd have to buy them, then send him a message in ebay/paypal that you want an 880 kit.

No the bulbs for those are H7s. You are replacing the sealed beam 4703s with a housing that will hold a H7 bulb.
EDIT::: you have aftermarket housings right?
so to get that look i need to buy he housings from euro lights and then the slim ballast set off ebay... and ill be good to go..
Right...I have the eurohousings for both high and low beams...but you really only need the lows. Email Peter at eurolights (tell him Robbie Lewis sent you) and he will hook you up!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH everyone for all the help!!!
i actually somewhat understand it now..
im going to do the euro housings with the ebay slim kit from vtec or whatever his name is...
then grab an 880 HID kit for the fogs...
thanks again!

i will update thread when i get everything in..
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Check out Rally Lights. They have them. If search around on here, you should find some threads on them too. (Now I forget if those threads where 1993-1997 or 1998-2002, which certainly makes a difference.)
Avoid cheap ebay knock-off, especially the ones where the reflector looks like a daisy or sun burst... they have horrible output. Also avoid the fake sealed beam projectors that are on ebay. They are not projectors, just a crappy sealed beam with a hunk of glass stuck inside and bad output.

For the price of some of these setups, you can get projectors.
Check out the Lighting FAQ:

For more info on lighting upgrades in general. There are threads in there also on projectors. If you want to go the easy route, you can get Hella 90mm H7 projectors and an OEM D2S HID setup and adapter plates or an H7 HID Kit. Total cost would be under $350 (projectors, HID, hardware, wire...).
I have the Hella 90mm H9 projectors. I got the H9 version instead of the H7 version because H9 is the brightest regular Halogen bulb you can get and I wasn't sure If I wanted HID at the time. I've since then modified them for better output and installed HID. My thread is in the Lighting FAQ. There are better options out there for projectors, but the Hella 90mm projectors (H7 & H9) have decent output and are easy to install.
seems like the eurolights are just barely better than stock.. or more convenient...
i might go with the HELLAS or Bosch..
keep it coming!
VIP, Are the Bosch sealed beam conversion housings any better than the Eurolights? I have a decent amount of glare, but regardless of the housing I would still have glare, seeing as I have HIDs in a reflector housing. I was just wondering if one is any better than the other.
