Porter Cable Errors - Mistakes
And my process:
1) Dawn wash
2) Clay
3) Wash
4) Menzerna SIP
5) Polish
6) Wax
Take your time with the PC and the Menzerna. It will want worked in. Slow movements with the PC. Apply product to the pad, set pad down on surface. Before turning on the PC, move it around a little to get the product started, then start on a nice low setting. Spread product, then up the speed and work it in.
After the Menzerna, the rest should be fairly easy and quick.
Also no need for a second "polish" step (#5 above) unless the PC/SIP somehow leaves some buffing marks or spider webbing behind. Step 5 IMO would be a quick wipe down with 50/50 IPA/water, and then application of your sealant/wax of choice.
Concentrate on a small section of the surface to learn the capabilites of both the machine and the Menzerna. You will notice any dulling haze and ultra fine lines disappear first. For any remaining lines and scratches, you can continue to pass over the surface with the machine/product as it levels the clear coat making those lines appear less noticeable until removed. Once you have achieved your desired result, then you can proceed to finish the rest of the car.
You can use the Menzerna as needed for any future surface corrections/improvements as well. Once you have finished polishing for the day, be sure to apply the last step protection product with your blue pad.

Nothing like scratching your nicely polished paint by dragging the power cord over the edge of a fender!!!
