I'm required to have a front plate here in Mass, but my creativity is this: Leave front plate and bracket in trunk at ALL times, so if the rare occasion of a cop asking me about it (been 2 years now and never had a problem) occurs just say oh it is in my trunk it just ripped off in the car wash I gotta go home and put it back on.

All you have to do is drill three small holes on the top of the plate and take the middle three bolts out of the air dam (10mm i think) and bend the plate right under the "texas" just a little bit and bolt it up and haul ***.. I have asked a few cops and my defensive driving instructors and they told me it has to be visible at 500ft well you dam near have to be on your knees at five hundred feet to see it but its there right?? I have not caught any hell about it yet..this pic is on my old car it was on there for a year and I have had it on my TA for 3 months with no problems...LOOKS GOOD TO ME
cant see the plate on my TA in the pic but hell you know how you like throwin a pic in anyways haha..

Good thoughts guys, I think that sucker is going in the truck tonight, on the bracket, and I'll pull out the car-wash card if it becomes an issue - sounds like nobody has a problem with it for the most part.

I guess having the factory molded front plate area on the 98+ Firebird/TA models is nice, becuase it gives us some flexability. I keep my front plate mounted in that spot, but usually use the OEM bird cover.
So the plate is actually on the car, its just a matter of removing or installing the cover.
If pulled over I've used the 'excuse':
"I'm just coming back from a car show and I forgot to remove the cover".
Once I explain that the plate is actually on the car and they see it under the cover, i've been let go. :-)
