Where have you guys put these to stay somewhat legal, but not the factory location. I'd like to get my front plate off the nice bowtie on the front of my convertible, and I'm looking for some alternative locations.

No front plate is illegal here in IL but honestly in the 8 years I've owned the car I have not once been stopped for it or even questioned about it when I did get pulled over for tints, loud exhaust.. Have you been stopped before? Otherwise I would say just take a chance, screwing up your front to mount a plate IMO sucks.. Going by what you said it sounds like you already have your plate mounted.. The best place I have seen is underneath the car on the black shroud piece that sticks down.. You can still see the plate from a distance but can't notice it up close.

thats what i was gonna say as well. the only other feasible place to mount it is on the front air dam under the car. or you could just move to the great state of South Carolina and enjoy no emmisions checks, no front plates and the cheapest gas in the country...

There's a few people on here with one that folds down underneath the bumper. I forget who makes the "hide-away" kit. If you ever got pulled over, you could just say "Sorry officer I forgot to pop the plate up." Hopefully someone who remembers more will chime in.

I never have put mine on. I've been pulled over 4 times for it in 8 yrs. A few times I've said the car just came out of the shop for paint and they didnt put it back on or I just showed up for court and showed them a pic of the car with the plate on. :/ But other's have gotten that motorized plate device and like it.

Up here there's actually a viper with some work done to it (older GTS) and he's actually got the front plate airbrushed on, I'll grab some pics if he's at the show tomorrow.

my front plate is cut to fit the airdam underneath the car and bolted onto it. u can see it perfectly, and it doesn't ruin the look of the trans am.

I was told I had to take my car to a shop and have it professional install it .... lol it sits under the passenger side seat. I tell them I have no way to mount it and will not drill into the car.

SLP front plate bracket, I dislike it and constantly either trip over it or cut my leg on it.. but whatever. Got pulled over 2x's by the same cop near Galena illinois, got out of a ticket 1x gave me an $85 ticket the other time... so I gave in.
