!AIR and LPP "Hand Polished" Stainless Long Tubes - PICS and VIDEO
I installed a set of LPP Stainless Long tubes a few weeks ago (they were "polished" but I spent about 20hrs really polishing them before the install.) The look and sound great. I have to say though the fit was pretty shitty...I had to notch the K-Member (a bunch) and even then the y-pipe wouldnt fit together like it was supposed to. I wound up having to load it up with open headers and carry it to an exhaust shop and have them bend the y-pipe some and weld it together to make it work. BUT it sounds and looks great now.

Your car is so clean. It's seriously one of my favorites - I save almost every picture I see of it.
But why spend 20 hours polishing them, when you can really barely see them? Was there a noticeable difference after polishing them that long? They seem to come really "shiney" already.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.
LOL....what do you expect from a high mileage daily driver????
It banged the bottom like Ron Jeremy on Viagra!!! I had to notch the K-Member some more (with the headers on since they were welded on) and I made a rubber bumper on the floor plan from an old serpentine belt I had (it sounds getto but works perfect and doesnt look bad at all...infact you would never even notice it looking at it.) After all that its fine, but they were far from "bolt on."
I thought about it but I am just not a fan of braided lines...even real ones remind me of those cheap covers. Besides if I did those I would have to replace ALL the other ones too to be right.
Its a Weiand/LPE I had chromed.
I think your case is the exception rather than the rule from what I hear. The quality is great, just the fit was terrible. By the time I got the headers on and went to install the y-pipe I had one day before loading it on the trailer and carring it 1600 miles to the POCI/GTOAA Conv in OH...so I didnt have time to contact LPP and get another one. The exhaust shop had the tools to make it fit....so I let them finish it. But I HATED letting someone else work on my car!!!
The week before the LSX Shootout a shop in Memphis is having GM High Tech do a story on them and they want to tune the car for me then so it can be in the pictures...so it will be Oct before I do it.
Thanks...and yes to ME it was well worth the time to have them look perfect rather than just ok. They looked like shiney stainless steel when I got them...when I installed them they looked like chrome. Its little things and details like that (lots of them combined) that make the difference on a show car....the difference between 1st in your class and Best of Show. I built my car to be a Best of Show canidate at any show we carry it to...and thats what it is.

Wow! Looks awesome! I polished mine up too before I put em on, but looks like you put in a little more effort into yours than I did.
One on the right is how they looked out of the box.
And I've for 5k miles on mine now & while they are purple, they're still shiney.
