I have used tape to tightly sandwich the old bulb in, then the tape grips the bulb and provides a handle to pull the old bulb out by hand without destroying it.
The courtesy lights are on a different circuit than the door lights. The door lights are wired to come on when the Parking lights and Headlights turn on. Another possibility is you might need to pull the LED and flip it 180 degrees to reverse the polarity. The door lights also have a red plastic embedded in the female end of the bayonet system, so even if you put a white LED in, only red light will shine through until you take a Dremel and drill out the red material

on a counterpoint, i saw (here) that they came out with enough tugging, so i just broke them with the pliers and pulled them out by the filaments

Here's a link to our page with the LED's we use in our gauges with our 6LE overlays....and how many to get of which kind. (we choose the ones we get so there are NO HOTSPOTS!)

Okay so I have a 2001 Coupe (NOT a convertible) Ws6 and I cannot figure out what bulb specifically i need for the backseat/trunk overhead light... anyone know the bulb number for superbrightleds.com???
Is it the Rigid Loop Bestoon bulb?

It is the Rigid Loop Festoon bulb. The OEM bulb emits light in a 360, but the SuperBrightLEDs light faces towards the back of the car, and not downward like an OEM bulb. The light is a little dimmer than stock, but it's not too big of an issue since I don't have any rear seats or people sitting there. Autolumination has a Rigid Loop Festoon glass bulb with a bunch of LEDs inside of it that emit light 360 degrees. They also have a rear-facing rigid loop festoon with three 1 watt LEDs. I am thinking of trying the one with three 1 watt LEDs.

One other question for anyone that knows or has done the light bars in the front seat foot wells. What product did u use and how did you wire it up? If I want them to come on with parking light switch on how would I do it?

The first post of this thread needs amendment--the info in the list isn't accurate.
Case in point: I ordered some reverse lights / back-up lights in accordance with the info in the first post & they're not even close to fitting (Reverse bulbs on a 4th gen 'bird are wedge bulbs, not rounded like the 1156 bulbs that the list says).
In other news, anyone wanna buy some Super-White 1156 LEDs? Sell 'em to ya cheap

Ordered some 3156 32LEDs for the reverse lights from Autolumination, the bulbs they sent me say 3157 on them, but they fit and light up. Anyone running 3157s in the reverse lights or experienced any problems with them? Trying to grasp whether or not I should send them back or not.
