Default BMW Headlights on my 89 CAMARO!

I just finished installing some BMW E36 DEPO Headlights on my 89 camaro! took a lot of time but finally got them in and working. Had to make my own wire harness in order to make these lights work. They sure do add another look to the 3rd gen. Check it out

That's pretty nice! I think you should paint the headlight buckets black, looks kinda weird since they are not separated like the OEM's.

Nice work. I'm putting this in the Lighting FAQ.

What was involved in making them fit?

Looks like the low beam is a projector. What bulb does it take? Is it HID? Or is that the older ellipsoid headlights (precursor to modern projectors)? I think I see fluting on the lower part of the lens in front of the curved projector lens. I think these are ellipsoid.

Can you post wall shots and down the road shots?

Here is a similar looking headlight that uses H7 projectors:

Price is nice too at $170 for the pair.

I just found those out of curiosity.

Here they are in chrome:

I wonder what the light output of these are as well. Nothing in the ad.

Just a lot of measuring. I had to buy some US Version Headlights and use that to measure where the headlights were going to since the US Headlights are different and smaller than the EURO type lights. I used a Dremel with a metal cutting wheel and a saw saw. Had to make my own wire harness to make the new lights work with my factory setup. Had to cut the bumper in order for the headlights to sit right in and flush with the bumper. Still not done yet. I still need to fab something up to keep those lights bolted down.

So they are the older-style ellipsoid headlights. Can you post wall shots so we can see the beam pattern. I've never seen the beam pattern of the older-style ellipsoid headlights before.
