LS1 SS looks best IF it has a nice grille to finish off the front facia. To me, the LT1 square, exposed headlights look outdated as apposed to the headlamp "capsules" that all newer cars have.

I agree the new LS1 style looks alot more modern, thats no argument. But "modern" isn't why I like them. The same reason I like the 69' SS Camaro, or the 70' Chevelle SS 454...Not because they look "modern"...

I probably just prefere the LT1 style simply because that's what I've always wanted and now that's what mine finally looks like...

I <3 my LT1, not because I love Boat Anchors, but because it's finally getting close to what I want it to be.

i used to love Lt1 front end (hence avatar) but I agree with alot of posters that it DOES look dated. Hell the LS1 front end looks dated. The main difference is the LS1 can be made to look more updated while the LT1 really can't with those headlights. Though the LT1 Camaro was what got me into Fbods in the first place.

OH

LT1 SS hood= SEX

I prefer the looks of the LT1 SS.

The reason I went with a '98+ fbody is the LS1 engine...that and the going rate for a '95 LT1 Z28 around here was within ~$1,000 of what I paid for my '99 SS. lol. I'm amazed that people are able to get over kbb for what is essentially 10+ year old GM junk (though they're amusing as hell to drive).

same here the reason being i think is people really dont know what they are looking at alot of people dont even know that GM made SS's in 96-97.
there were only around 3000 made in 97 compaired to the 11000 they made in 02.

I love the LT1. Only if, and damn it, I mean if it’s an SS and the corners on the lights are the same color with no black. For the life of me, I can't see why Chevy did not make the bumper monochromatic…. Same goes for the late 80’s and early 90’s Camaros.

They're regular production cars. Nothing is rare about a vehicle that 3,000 were made of one trim level/package. SS cars are Z28's with flair. While they look great (in my opinion), to make anything more out of them is just being silly.

I've only seen two other SS cars in my area (LS1's). It's not very often that I see a regular Z28 though...
