You are right about all the second gen. add ons for a first gen. inspired car. But for everybody saying it looks just like a Camaro, of course it does. They always have though. I want you all to have a look. Both First Gen. and Second Gen. cars share common parts between the Pontiac and the Chevy. Most of the time the only difference is the front facia and the tail lights. Just look. That is why they are just generalized as F-Bodies. Remove the tacky stickers and exhaust, but leave some of the other stuff. After all T/A's have always been a little more on the flashy look at me side. Pontiac made a plain good looking car a few years back, everybody complained that was not flashy enough and didn't look enough like the original. ie. GTO. We are never happy.

In the Pontiac Enthusiast magazine it shows the Trans am with a different back and front and its Blue. The company that negotiating to make the Trans ams is called ASC. I guess this is the same company that brought back the Firebird convertible in the mid-80's. They mention making a limited run of these from the Camaro platform and even having a 525 hp motor. The car in this magazine looks alittle better in my opinion than the one at TA Nationals.

Front needs to be changed. Looks just like the camaro. Rearend definitely needs changing. Some 69 TA tail lights would look nice back there. Love the hood, old school side vents and wheels. But if Pontiac is shut down, why and how are you so sure it will be made??? I hope you are correct!!

That's because it is a camaro with a few things changed. It's been posted before. The company that did that took a Camaro and made those changes....front bumper, rear etc.

i saw that post too.. its a company that takes the new camaro and puts a cheesy trans am body kit on it. they try to do a conversion but i think it looks like crap. they should just leave the 4th gen trans am as the last one made

still screams camaro to me, though it would be a nice option as an aftermarket body kit.

not really. despite what you think, there are NO common body panels between the 1st and 2nd gens. you cant put a 78 camaro door on a 78 TA. you cant swap front fenders. the rear quarters are different. the basic structure of the cars are the same, but nearly everything that you bolt on is different.

and remember, pontiac didnt make the new GTO. they rebadged the monaro. it was a fantastic car, but without beating a dead horse, it shouldnt have been called a GTO and was marketed totally wrong. Jim Wangers himself said the same after the GTO was out of production.

what else do you expect it to be? there ARE NO trans ams to make. so what else do you think they can do? completely reworking a 2010 camaro into a pontiac would be so cost ineffective, its impossible to do. they cant re-engineer the car and sell it at a price people can actually afford and still make a profit. youd be talking 50K+ if they did that. new quarters, dash, doors, etc. would take so long to make, and be so expensive, it would never sell.

the spoiler needs less of a rake, the splitter tips SHOULD stay, but redesign it so it flows better with the body.
