Yes they do take some time to fully brighten (a few seconds or longer), but the real issue is that usually HID doesn't like being flashed quickly.

You can make the lows stay on with the highs. Here is one way to do it:

I did this ^^ .... so my lows and fogs stay on when the lights are one, and then have PIAA 65w halogen dirving lights in the highs... if I can get on a dark back road ill get pics for you if you want. but i can see almost 1/4 mi pretty clearly with my setup at nite

mattr228, why'd you delete your post? I looked like there were TSX projectors retrofitted into the stock housings.

I'm all for pics. How is the DDM kit? Is it really good quality or is it cheaply made?

DDM offers a free lifetime warranty and its a slim kit. most of the kits you see on ebay are thicker ballasts with no warranty.

fyi i wouldnt pay more than $80 for any kit unless you are buying from DDM.

DDM's kits range in price from $40 - $105 depending on which kit you buy.

when pairing them with the sonar projectors, i found that i had to notch the base of the bulb so it would slide into the housing properly. that was my only issue and i think thats more of an issue with the projectors.

the quality of the ddm kit is good. they didn't even cut corners on any of the wires or the double-sided stick-on mounting pads (cheap ones would fall off).
