Im going to order an SLP grill for my 99 SS this week but cant decide which one to order. Im trying to decide between the red bowtie grill and the black/silver SS grill. I am leaning towards the red bowtie grill, thats what I had on my old red z28 and really liked it.
I like the retro SS grill in my car now but I am more of a fan of a factory looking car, I just cant make up my mind.
To me the black/silver SS grill looks like it belongs on a 2000+ SS with ten spokes and painted mirrors, not a 99.
If anyone has pics of an SLP grill in a red car feel free to post them up to help me decide
Here is a few pics of my car now

Definitely keep the one you have bro... I would paint it satin black behind it though.. it makes it look quite a bit better IMO.
IF you are really set on buying a different grille you definitely need to get the one with black and silver SS emblem. The one with the bowtie didn't come on an SS and would stick out as not belonging..

Keep the one you got. Looks great, just paint behind it like others have said (and I did).
I know its HO and off to the side, but its the only closeup I got where you would normally be able to see the body color behind the grille.

Stick with the Billet. It looks the best on red cars. Since SLP lowered the price on the SS and Bowtie grills I'm starting to see every other car with one. With GMMG cars falling out of the spot light you'll see less with the billet retro style grill like yours.
