I know, but with my pewter car I thought the color I picked would be ok. If not I will repaint it.

If the sun comes out today I will take her out and see if I like it or not and take a picture for the forum.

And now I have decided since I have her apart, I am going to remove the entire window washer system, except for the new nozzles I will put back in. That should free up some weight in the front. I never use the washers anyway. I don't like window washer fluid streaks on the side windows

just an fyi to anybody thinking about prying the arms off, be very careful. the tool from advanced is your best bet. i used a nut/bolt/washer combo to keep the tool from bending and got the drivers side off finally. i did manage to bust the windshield first though

Here is the tool GM Uses. Try to find one similiar.
I used a Lisle Window Arm/Battery Terminal puller and it worked on the passenger arm but there was not enough clearance on the drivers one.

Hmmm I should do this when I do my fpr. Save my hands from some of the scratches and gouges while working, and freshen up the plastic. Depends on how hard it is to get the wiper arms off I suppose.

that looks just like the one i bought at advanced auto except mine was cheaply made and didn't have any gussets to help it keep it's shape. with a bolt/washer to hold its shape it worked very well. it cost $13 in the help isle

Grab some pics if you can, I'd like to see how the satin comes out.

How did you manage that? (the windshield)

Also, can someone post the EXACT puller they used so I know what to get. I've read that some do not fit our cars. A link to the puller would help.

that would be a moment of shear stupidity mixed with a severe lack of patience. i tried to pry the arm of, slipped and the windshield got in the way

Wait so you have to use a special tool to get the wiper arms off?

Crap.

i just took mine off the other day, to clean out gunk underneath. i'll be painting before i put it all back on.
i didn't use a tool, but almost cracked my windshield too. it takes some penetrating oil and some wiggling and patience.
sorry for your luck outkast.

I threw a few coats of paint on the wiper covers the other day and the difference is phenomenal. I'm too scared to do the other parts in fear of breaking my windshield

Only cost me about $200 for a new one for me when I replaced it (was all scratched up when I got the car).

I did the same thing when I was prepping my car for paint. The older cars you had to pry up on the wipers to get them off.Idid not realize that the windshield goes under the plastic until it was too late.Atleast i have a naw windshield that is not all scratched up now.

Here is the Gloss black in the sun.

My new push pins came in today. The new covers for the arms and the the window washer nozzles will be in tomorrow, Although the nozzles will be installed just to plug the hole, as I removed the washer tank .
