the only problem that all the scanners have is that they have all of these settings to chose from but you don't have any idea if the readings are to high or low. you don't know here the readings should be like knock, manifold pressure, etc. sorry for reawaking old thread

Older thread, but does anybody know if the trans temp is pretty accurate (A4)? Ever compared it to a trans gauge tapped into the transmission? I want something to moniter tranny temp and I might as well just buy this guage since it seems to do it all.

installed mine and the power will not stay on. so i ran a switched 12v from my fuse box and it came on and off with the car and worked perfectly.........
now today, i got to drive down the road to show my buddy my new toy and the thing comes on and displays: the logo, then "actuator active", the it gives me my two categorys but no numbers or amounts for temp,volts,ect..... stays on for like 2 seconds then goes off. what am i missing??? gauge is messed up you think

i got it fixed now. what happened was my setting weren't applicable for my car. If the gauge doesn't recognize the info you are wanting it to recognize it will shut itself off. i fixed this by turning the gauge back on and immediately pressing the left and right button to pull up the MENU screen. From there i went to set up and changed all my categories: fuel% trans temp, volts, ect.... something that i had originally selected couldnt be found by my gauge so it shut itself down.
these things are awesome. you can control you low and hi fans with the push of a button as well as a ton of other functions.
here a couple pics of mine install if anyone is wondering what red font and brushed bezzel look like. also i have the qauges light dimmer on med. enjoy

Ahh nice, something more to the list.. Someone was talking about "shift light" does it function as a shift light too?
Edit: After a little research: it does function as a shift light, because the lights go whenever the parameters have been exceeded, the manufactur claims due to the responsivness of the unit it works well. *in case anyone else was wondering*
