ws6 hood strut Hey, i just bought an OEM ws6 hood for my 1999 firebird trans am, and i was wondering if i would need new hood struts for the new hood or can i just keep the ones i have?

actually i think he is saying he is afraid that the struts are too powerful for the hood in which case the fact his are old is a good thing. i remember having this discussion with injuneer when i got my ws6 hood in early 2008 and he said he had been running his stock non ws6 hood struts for 8 years without a problem. this is for an LT1 but i would assume the same rules apply for the LS1. your older worn struts should be fine with a ram air hood.

LOL my hood won't shut that way for some reason. it just hits the latch and stops. i have to slam it a bit to get it to shut. never had that problem with the original hood though.
