Thanks for the write up I just did mine last night and they came out great wish i had new housings though. I think this thread should be sticky'd

the moisture inside is because its not sealed correctly... so when you do yours just make sure to do the work correctly and prep the mating surface where the headlights seal together. as long as they are sealed good then they will never leak. mine have been in my car for 3 years after doing mine and they have never had moisture inside them...

Looks very good!!! I wish I would have followed the same precedure as you when I did mine. When I removed the masking tape 50% of the reflective paint came off with it. I was so pissed thank god those headlights were cloudy as hell to begin with. Now I got black projectors but am gunna buy a brand new set from the stealership soon and try again. How much did you guys who bought new stockers pay??? Through a stealership I think the set is like 500$ or something?? Anyone get theirs cheaper?

So with painting the ridge reflective area, how does that affect light output? Ever since I first saw an LS1 Camaro I thought they needed black housings, and now that I have one I want to do this but want the headlights to still be as bright as stock

yeah, it doesn't really affect it at all. the main reflective area you need is the back.

yeah it didn't hurt my light out put at all. the important part is still chrome.
