Thanks for clarifying that for me. I now recall the freshening up they did engine wise and the new colors like the Green for example.

3360lbs is the factory weight. The springs go on tomorrow, so I'll probably get pics up Friday/Saturday.

I have longtubes on the way, and the exhaust is getting changed today. I may keep the factory rear muffler, but it is getting rid of the cats and the side mufflers. If I don't like it, I'm swapping the rear muffler out with a magnaflow.

Well now the T/A is gone I wanted to find a suitible replacement. I've been trying to think for a long time what a great base would be for a good all around street car. Had to be lighter than the T/A, decent cubes (IMO), 6 speed, 2 door. I was stuck between a C6 and a GTS Viper. The C6 was great all around except for 2 things, they are extremely common, and unlike the GTS they are not forged motors, which is huge since I want to make 650-700RWHP. After weighing it all out the GTS was my best option. Here is a pic of the one I just picked up. Flew out to Florida Friday, stayed the night, and drove 20 hours back to Oklahoma Sat. morning, I just got home.

I have some 17" CCW Classics coming in for it for now until I can get some bigger wheels, I got them for a steal though.

Very general info:

1997 GTS Viper
Stock except for a short shifter
27k (big plus for me)

Here it is the first time I put gas in it before I headed back from FL, I'll get more pics up today after I nap and clean it, I haven't slept in 24 hours.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying this is the best all around base period, just what was within my budget. I think the ideal start off base would be a Gallardo or a Murcielago.

So, the new project begins!
Whether one likes this car or not (I do), I must say that the first gen Vipers in GTS (coupe) trim have to be one of the sexiest cars, ever.

Longtubes, catback and CAI are ~40-50RWHP. Looks like most are 450-460RWHP and 490-510RWTQ with full exhaust and CAI.

They look like a cakewalk, the flex pipe they come with welds to the side pipes, but they have a flange for the primary on the headers, so it's one weld on each side, and the engine bay is VERY open.

I'm thinking not too terribly hard due to the fact the whole front end flips forward.

An online retailer, I don't remember the name, I'd have to look.

As it sits, mid 12's would be nice, full exhaust, 11's. Once it's 'done' low low 10's or high 9's. It won't be as much a track car, but a street/highway car.
