I love the matte black stripes on a gloss black car look. It's almost like ghost stripes. I've been debating it ever since I got this SS a few months back, and keep looking at those pictures above (I've had them saved on my computer for a while now). I just don't know if it would add anything, so I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but then again it could be a really nice, subtle modification. I've seen one of the new Challenger's in black with a matte black stripe package and it looked wicked!

wait a second......Fourth Circle Designs offers the same decals...for $100 dollars less than Third Gen Decals?
and they already have Flat Black under their color options.........someone please explain this. From what I understand
T.G.D. has high quality thin cut vinyl sheets and supposedly lasts a long time ... does F.C.D's have the same quality?
I looking for some testimonials on this.

Oh, and FWIW I've used 4th Circle on my old Trans Am. Quality was as good as any vinyl I've ever owned or seen. Mine lasted for years and were on the car when I sold them, and are still going strong to my knowledge.

I like those stripes but sometimes it's too much even with them being black. I love the black on black look. I went with flat black blackbird stripes. You can also see I went with a flat black bird overlay in front where the license plate goes. Never regretted it.

thanks guys. yeah. I really don't see anyone on ls1tech posting these flat black on gloss black pics, so I appreciate you guys posting them up in this thread. I do like the fourth circle designs checkered flag stripe set, but I like the Third Gen Decals better. But if you can barely see the matte black stripes..I'm thinking why not save the money and get the fourth circle designs one. I just have to talk to the people at FCD and then weigh the pros and cons of both. but i'm definitely set on doing this.. it looks good.

Well my matte black decals came in today. I ended up contacting Shawn from Fourth Circle Designs and I couldn't be happier w/ the way things worked out. He was great to deal with and he really knows his stuff when it comes to F-body vinyl designs. The quality of the vinyl is just as good as any other out there and the price over third gen decals was a hell of savings, close to $100 bucks, for the same stuff! With his advise I chose to have my checkered stripes to end the rear deck like a 30th anniv. and had the pinstripes like the 35th anniv. He also generously threw in all the other decals for the rest of my car. Now I just have to wait till the temperature hits at least 50degrees to put these on.

look closely, 3rdgens decals are not the same exact design as 4th circles, and to me they are much better.
not sure of which, or if either is a sponsor, but personally i have had 3 great experiences with 3rdgendecals aka
camarographics .com, so i'm quite fond of them. i too liked the price that 4th circle offered, but when i really looked at
the kit, i didn't really care for it. the spoiler stripes look pretty hideous if you ask me (3rd gens' ends much nicer at the
spoiler, ^like the camaro pics), and i dont like the way the front stops at the nostrils either, the way they fold over into the
grill area. just doesn't look right to me. and the price comparison is not 100% accurate either, since 3rd gen kinda gives you
a nice little package, including all of the overlays you could possibley need, which, i was able to use to spruce up the trunk area,
interior, and the engine bay, and still have a few left over for anything else i choose to do.

im not trying to knock 4th circle at all, especially quality wise, i have no experience with them. i just dont reall care for
their checkered flag kit for the T/A's. if i were to get stripes for the camaro, id be getting them from 4th gen since they
sell bothe the sunoco hood stripes and the sunoco side stripes.

lol that is exactly what my mind is saying right now.. I'm trying to find a heated garage so I can wash my car, strip the wax off and apply these stripes... i have two weeks before I head back to Rutgers so hopefully my grandma will allow me to pull out her cars and do it up =].

This decal was mad hard to align; took me an hour and it's probably 2-5 degrees away from perfection and this was the best I could do. Now I'm really excited to get all the other decals on seeing how it came out... what do you guys think?
