My Detailing Kit...
So I went to AutoZone and got some good products. Let me know if these will get the job done and if there's anything else I should add to the kit.
I'm gonna clean it with some Turtle Wax car wash first to get rid of the excess dirt and bugs. Then I have Clay Magic Perfect Finish clay system. I'm hoping this will get rid of the damn tree sap all over my car, and some of those scratches that came from nowhere.
Then I read somewhere that I should clean with Dish Detergent, Liquid Dawn...Should I?
After that my Trans Am should be ready for a deep waxing with Meguiar's Gold Class paste wax. I was gonna get Zainos Bros wax, but they didn't carry it.
Tires will be done with Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss and the wheels with a chrome cleaner.
I'll vacuum the interior next and wipe down all dash and trim with Meguiar's High Leather Wipes. Then the windows get treated with Invisible Glass by Stoner. I heard to use newspaper as the applicator to the glass. Is this true or a hoax? I bought some 100% cotton towels and washing pads to use.
I hope buying all these products and all this time and effort pay off. I've been pretty discouraged lately seeing how dirty my black car can get. I've got a long day of car scrubbing ahead of me tomorrow. But its much better than working for those bastards.

The use of Dawn is one of the steps for the proper application of Zaino. You only need to do the Dawn wash if and only if you want to strip off any and all was off your car. A good car wash soap should be used otherwise.
I have heard of the newspaper for cleaning windows, but I don't do it - too massy the news paper self destructs when wet. Use a nice clean towel to clean and then use a clean dry towel to buff off any streeaks that may occur.
Have fun!
aino is only available through the internet/mail order. It is supposedly a great product.
STP Son-of-a-gun is what I use for tires.. for other stuff (interior) I use mothers "The Protector".. its light, no greasy and dosent over shine the interior <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
If you have a lot of small swirls and scratches you might want to use a polish like 3M or something..

The Meguiar's wax shines up real nice. It's good enough for now till I buy the whole line of Zaino products.
Invisible Glass works well, but it's a pain in the *** with those newspapers. Plus I still have those sap drops everywhere, windows too. I hate trees!!! I wish I had a garage.
The Endurance tire gloss is cool. Those tires never looked better. But the dirt on these country roads sticks right to it.
That's all for now folks...

also the clay bar works good cleans all the dirt out of the pain i have used mothers and meguirs and love both of them you can really tell a diff.
to get sap off the windows spray down with window cleaner and then take a razor blade and scrap window clean
i used a claybar on my old 91 camaro not long after it was painted, and the claybar turned burgundy from overspray. i use one about once a year on my LS1 to get the bug guts off the front end that nothing else will take off, and the tar off the fenders from all the gravel roads where i live. nothign beats it. you just have to keep the car good and SLICk (like soaking wet) with quick detailer or a mix of car wash soap and water in order to get the clay bar to slide correctly.
