Default Gauges for vents 98-02 TA?

I am considering replacing the 3-vents above the stereo with gauges. I have M6 versus automatic no nos. What 3 gauges are the most important and does anyone have pics. Brand and mechanical versus electric. I believe I need 2 5/8 diameter. I want to stay with red backlight. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Water Temp
Oil Temp
Fuel Pressure

I have Autometer Phantom with red backlights. 2 5/8 is the correct size.

Spd-Kilz... Are you using a pyrometer 0-1200 deg gauge as a water temp?

Other option is you have both an EGT and AFR gauge...

I'm doing this also, and was wondering if the gauges just sit in the holes or are they attached somehow?

Does anyone have a picture with black face gauges? I like the white but it does not fit the look I am going for. I do not want them to standout.

I had my EBC in one of the vents, and it was a press fit, gotta push a little, but they arent going anywhere. <<< Thats for 2-5/8

For the smaller gauges, guys using a ferco coupler as a reducer, but it looks dumb.

I used carbon fiber series, they look nice with the color of the dash being gray. Since I can't afford to buy a new set I had to go the "DUMB" route.

whoa... that looks awesome! Isnt there a write up somewhere on here that shows you how to actually install the gauges and route the wires to the feeds through the ac vents?

Thanks for the pics. I chose the CF route and ordered a oil pressure guage yesterday for test fit. I want a good look that is not over powering. I plan on using red leds to maintain the instrument cluster backlight. I have carbon fiber valve covers and it will stay within my theme. It is each to his own but I don't care for the white face gauges. That is the beauty of modding a car. As long as you like it nothing else matters.

Thanks for the different looks guys.

Crappy picture but I used autometers cobalt series also used autometers angle rings to angle the gauge more towards me. I liked the look of it but since then moved them to the pillars because in the summer it got real hot in my car.

For those that have installed them in the vents what are you doing with the A/C?
Are you still using it.

I like the gauges in the vents, but can not go with out the A/C. Have thought of using a smaller gauge to allow the air to exit from around the perimeter of the gauge.

Currently using a custom made stand alone 2 pod unit just to the side of radio. That dose not get in the way of either the drink holder-glovebox door or airbag deployment. Just like the cleaner look with them in the dash.
