I saw a chevy truck today that had his tails color matched to his truck. It didn't look like a light cover but an actual coating like VHT. It was a Tealish Green color to. The light shined through just like the VHT. Not the best color but pretty cool idea. Is there somewhere to buy a paint matched light paint or do you think it was a custom job?

^probably a custom job. Paint shops can mix any color with clear, to make a translucent color. Quite a few people here have had that done, as opposed to VHT. When i got my camaro repainted and all, that was when i put on the red-out lights, and when my paint/body guy saw them, he said he could've done it for me mixing red and clear. So you should be able to do any color. But, he could have used the same type of spray paint like we've used. Tamiya USA makes lots of colors of these translucent paints.

but that is the color the light will be as well.

Ok that is what I figured was some kind of custom job. I would be kind leery of using something other than red. If you get rearended or something it might be your fault if the lights aren't red. However, plenty of people have tail lights busted out and shine white, so I don't know. Cool idea though. Thanks for the input.

gloss black berger + deep black tails = perfection. dude, i love it. the only thing i'd like better is if it were 93-97 lights. but it still looks amazing as is.

I agree with the 93-97. Thats why I'm not sure if I like mine or not.

I think yours looks the best so far, matches the black panel just right.
