I have been wanting to purchase HIDs for a while now for my 01 WS6, I know there are many threads on this but I cant seem to really find any in search. I know the user 98 WS6 I believe has an awesome write up on it, but I was wondering what other places you guys have went to to get your HID lights? I am trying to keep this as cost effective as possible, also any reccomendations on what lighting to get? (8000k, 10000k, 120000k) Also any pics?
I would want to do my low beams AND fogs. Thank you!

6K is best light output, 8K looks more blue and a little better IMO.
I would go right for 4300 temp for fogs! Even 3000 if you can find them.
My choice would be 8000K for low/hi beams and 4300 for Fogs. All about preference, 10000K is too blue and anything over that is purple and is just for show, not great for lighting.
I have 8K for Hi/Low on my car and bike, love them!

Lighting choices are strictly personal, I have 6k on mine and they work great. I got my H4 bulb kit from HidKing from ebaymotors.
You will need a sealed beam conversion kit as well since it is a Trans Am you can get some here http://www.eurolamps.com/

or you can just drill out the backs of the stock housings and RTV the bulbs in.
either way you're probably going to **** a lot of people off unless you use projectors, and that means moneyyy.

Does anyone have any pics of the 8k, 10k, 12k, etc? I originally wanted 10k or 12k because I wanted my lights BLUEE. Now I am seeing 10k, 12k is blue, but doesnt light aswell as others and 8k is a good mix of both.
What ALL do I need, is there one company that sells everything I need to do the low beam/fogs? If not where do I have to go through and remember...cost effective.

DDMtuning's slim ballast kit is the best you are going to find. 55w 8000k lows and 35w 6000k fogs is a very good combination to go with and will also give great light output! Hope this helps.

4300k put outs the best light output. Anything 8000k and over, your only going for the looks. however, even with 10000k, my light output it WAY better than stock.
i installed 6000k (IIRC) on my moms jeep cherokee...the light output on that is 2 or 3 times better than the 10000k's on my TA

Ohh alright, thank you for the info. Now I can't decide 10k or 8k.
Also do I need BOTH the DDM Tunings slim ballast kit AND the eurolights sealed beam conversion, or just one of them?

you need both. you dont have to spring for the slim kit, but its recommended. the eurolamp conversion kit you will need if you want to do the job right; otherwise you can drill out a stock lamp and rtv the hid bulb into it

You definitely need some projectors man...that is ridiculous lol. There is absolutely no beam direction, and those are bright as hell!! If you get a cop coming in the other direction, he could definitely give you a ticket for that - I'm sure its blinding to other drivers.

I have 8000K in my low beams and fog lights. I think past that you can't see squat and loose the advange of HIDs. Aim them low and you shouldn't have any problems.

On this pic you'll notice that there's not much glare to oncoming traffic, I have my lights aimed kind of low where I see better than stock, making the car look a little updated and I never get anybody to flash their lights at me.![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)

8000k lows. You dont need HID highs, thats kinda stupid, seeing as most poeple usually turn their highs on and off frequently (bad for HIDs).
Make sure you get sealed beam and aim them down. Have a buddy drive towards you and see if hes blinded, if not your good. I ust parked next to a wall, and aimed my lgihts at the wall. And lowered them til they were about the height of my hood in the bird.
