when you do he tire shine it will look good for a while and then turn back to the way it was... i did it to mine and it looks like it did before, it was a fix for a short time... im not sure if there is anything for long term and i only drive my car on the weekends no rain or anything like that...

Unless you enjoy cleaning the **** out of your wheel wells, just use the tire stuff. Just like the rest of your car, yes, it will get dirty again. You wash it and re-apply. Good thing about it, the tire shine keeps crap from sticking so when you wash it the dirt and stuff should come off easily. If you want, first spray the area down with wheel and tire cleaner (careful, some of that stuff can hurt paint) and let soak, then pressure wash, and when dry apply tire shine. It will look better than any undercoat, paint, etc, and is easy maintenance.

i ended up using tire shine for the front. it looks 10x better. i havent done the back yet because i need to clean the tire rubber from it first.
heres a before and after, tough to tell from the pics but what a difference,

The other thing is that you don't have to clean the rubber off because that rubber will look good with tire shine on it too.
I used to brush and scrub my wheel wells when I first got into cars, and they never looked good. Got a job as a detailer and the old guy who was teaching me would just drench the wheel wells in tire shine, and they looked new. Genius. Tire shine is good for several things I'd never thought of:
Spray in dusty vents, they look new.
Will make engine bay shiny (for a short time, then its a dust magnet) I don't like it myself.
Here's one I used myself: factory painted rims in less-than-good condition will look good if you spray them down in tire shine and wipe off. My formula rims (silver) were pitted and flaking, tire shine made the finish more consistent and shiny. It does wash off, but it works.

Fluid Film works great in wheel wells. Not only does it shine it up but it keeps it from rusting. Because it soaks into the metal pores, you could rinse out any dirt accumulation and the product will still be there.
If there are any members who haven't tried it and live in the U.S., just shoot me a PM with your contact information and I'll ship one out for free.

If you do buy a can, take a pic with it near your car and I'll send out a free shirt or hat. We've also got a cool fan site at www.fluid-film.ning.com with an LS1Tech group to identify where you've come from.

Do you want them to shine AND protect them? Cleaning is the easy part. Use anything. Simple green and an old rag is fine. When that's done, this product is all you need.

Tire shine is garbage due to the fact that 9/10 of them sling like mad creating a bigger mess than before. The above product offers a descent shine and protects excellent. It goes on my dash, leather and wheel wells.
