Default Is there a way to clean the wheel wells?

Well after a year of driving in Kentucky weather my wheel wells went from nice and black to grimey looking. Is there some way to repair this or clean it? Thanks for the advice!

If you have access to a pressure washer (walmart has them for under $200 for a good one) and jack stands..take the wheels off, then spray some simple green or super clean something like that in there and let it set, then use the pressure washer to wash it away, then if thats not good enought go to a local parts store and get some undercoating and then spray that on there.

If you are just talking about the plastic wheel wheel well protectors/guards. . .

All it takes is some WD-40, a good durable shop rag, and lots of elbow grease!

I just did this while I was doing my oil pan and had the whees off and it made a WORLD of difference. It's nice and dark and just enough shine!!

Remove wheels
Spray off wheel well with water
Apply P21S Wheel Gel
Let wheel gel soak for 5-10 mins
Agitate Wheel gel with a brush
Rinse off

Repeat steps above until satisfied

The wheel gel works extremely well.

Finally Dress with a non silicone under carriage spray.

I suggest cleaning the wheel barrels while you have the wheels off.

Here are a buddies before and after pics.

Washing ~10 years of caked grease, brake dust, dirt etc off that has most likely never been done if daily driven takes a while, but it can be done.

Once cleaned its fairly easy to maintain.

You might repeat these steps maybe once a month, or when ever desired.

Dont use wheel gel on your wheel wells. Just use an all purpose cleaner or optimum no rinse and agitate. P21S is way too expeensive to be waisting on the wheel wells. Check this link out: http://www.youtube.com/user/Scottwax#p/u/28/7fUtu6JB5aQ
