I havent painted mine but Ive heard good results from duplicolor, make sure you sand prime and put multiple lite coats of paint with 2-3 coats of clear coat. Good Luck

If I were you, I would take the trim to a paint shop!!! It is hard to do a perfect job, I can tell you that much!!!

Your best bet would be take your parts to an automotive paint shop.Otherwise if you want to do it yourself, and you want your parts to actually be the same color and be as "smooth" as your stock paint job,be ready for a "LONG" process!!I have about 10-12 hours in radio bezel and the two heater/ac vents!(PPG CERTIFIED"BLUE and SILVER and 15+ years in automotive refinishing).Any additional questions SSZSLP@aol.com,gladly will help you do them ""RIGHT""!

You can still see the ""grain"" in it,(means no priming or sanding to fill in),which means in all no matter how much clear is applied(hard to tell if you did)it will never ""look"" like the car's finish!!Again not bashing, not to offend.

Just a couple of my thoughts on this. If you are going to paint your interior trim, match it to your outside color, gives a nice factory look. Second, I have had HORRIBLE expiriences with Duplicolor paint. If you are going to use Duplicolor, allow no more than 10 minutes between coats, or else the paint will wrinkle. I'd say 3-4 coats of color, and 2 or clear. Make sure to get a can of clear that has the mixing ball in it, for some reason a lot of them didnt come with any. They are supposed to have them to find one that does. If you can't, mix it VERY well.

I would have a shop do it for you. I did all the prep work on my interior trim and had my friend that painted my car mix me a custom color. The paint he used was some kind of flexible paint for plastic so it just doesnt chip off. Heres how it came out. The color has a 2 tone kind of look to it that almost matchs the color of my car.

I used an interior/exterior can(s) of paint that I purchased from an Auto Parts store. Put 3 good coats on it, but no clear for me. I tested it out on something and thought it made the black look "hazy".

did about an hour and a half of sanding with a 600 and 800 grit paper, then 3 coats of primer, 6 of silver, 3 clear...no problems and its been on six months

I myself like both variations...the visible grain and the smooth look. It all depends on what makes you happy! I've contemplated painting some interior pieces, but can't seem to get myself to do it.....

I did mine, but the red got really annoying after a while. I went back to the stock look. Unless you have a dark color, or plan on doing something close to stock, don't do it!
