Default Need ideas to customize underside of trunk lid.

Was looking for some ideas on adding a cover to underside of decklid on my vert. Does anyone have any pics that they could share? Or any ideas? Mirrored Plexiglass...Vinyl w/embroidery....looking for something that would install w/o altering the decklid itself and look cool at car shows.

ummm that's weird. I've never really paid attention to the 98-02 vert trunks. every hatch I've seen have had that plastic cover. I wouldn't bother fabbing up any covers yourself.... If I was in your shoes I would first check to see if this is normal and that birds like yours don't have a cover to put on .....and if this is normal I would pop those hinges/struts off that bitch, flip it upside down and paint it black!!

Put a "firehawk" decal right under where the white sticker is...

Thin plastic covered with leather or vinyl, contoured and shaped to fit then whatever logo you want. Id go with a firehawk logo.

I made a set of Camaro mirrors a while ago but never got pics up. If I remember correctly they're a little different than Firebirds. I'll try to get some pics up Mon. http://store.specializedstainless.co.../Detail?no=307

Looks to me like one off of a regular hatch would fit. Might need some trimming but it looks like it's shaped the same as the glass underneath

dont think the coupe hatch plastic will work as it will stop short (where that crescent moon shape is where the coupe cars glass ends)

if it were mine i would take it to an upholstery shop and let them fab something up with either carpet or vinyl and get what ever logo you wish slp, firehawk, pontiac logo.

it would be very easy to make a template out of cardboard and cut it out of some thin wood and get it covered if you are the do it yourself kind of guy.

at the least though i would take it and have it cleared and make it look like the underside of the hood, that would clean it up nicely

+1, that's the first time I've seen a vert with the trunk popped.

make a pure gold cover with walrus ivory in-lays that say "firehawk".

but srsly. i have no idea. just a plain cover with a logo seems like a waste of a potentially very unique way to customize your car. there's gotta be a better idea for a big ol' blank canvas like that.
