Trailblazer aluminum A4 shift ****?
I know I've seen one of these on an F-body before but can't find who did it. Are these a direct swap? If not, what is needed to make them work? Need to know before ordering one as they are not cheap. Thanks!

I have one in my Firebird. It is supposed to be a direct fit, though I ran into a small snag that took me and my uncle forever to figure out. We put the shifter on and we could not get it to shift into park. Turns out there was some protruding metal on the inside of the gear shifter that prevented it from coming all the way down the stick so that the button wasn't shifting. After drilling it out though, it fits perfectly. I love it and I will also try and find a way to rewire my TCS through the button on the shifter itself.

Actually the only negative comment I have gotten about the shifter, everybody else that has seen it (and voiced an opinion) loves it. And I don't know really know how it could be too big or bulky when it rests at the exact height as the factory shifter and is the same shape (T-handle). But I digress... I'll have to get you some more pics tomorrow, and yes the little piece is inside the shaft, So there are no exterior modifications to the shifter.

I don't think it looks bulky either. It dresses up the interior nicely and comes with a leather boot too. One of the best looking direct replacement (no adapter) A4 ***** IMO. Way better than the stock Camaro ****:

I have a leather boot and my selector tab is still in place and functional.

I think it is the angle of the picture, if I look at mine at the right angle with the stock overlay the indicator isn't visible either. That would be my guess.
I'm marking this for future reference, for next year when I start redoing my interior (exterior first this year!). It looks good. Much better than a (worn out) stock Camaro one. Of course it will depend on whether I stay auto or go manual...

While I was out running some errands today, I stopped by a GMC dealer to see if I could check out one of these ***** in person. It was my lucky day, I found an unlocked Envoy. It had the same shift ****, but with a black plastic insert instead of the aluminum. It didn't look bulky to me, or feel too big in my hands. I'm 6'3 with a large frame though, so my hands are big. If I can find one at a good price, I'm buying it. eBay wants like $70 shipped though; I don't want one that bad.
