- like a million. 6000k show the best visibility out there. They light up important traffic signs and help with eye fatigue and lets you see possible road obsticles. So how are they so dangerous? wtf?

6000K isn't the best, because if it were, then automanufacturers would be putting it in their cars. 4300k is actually the best color temperature. Once you cross over the yellow spectrum, and start heading towards the blues, you diminish the light output, and actually put more strain on your eyes because the higher spectrum light actually causes your retinas to close because of glare. Sure, the blue lights 'look' brighter, but that's because it is actually causing your eyes to close due to the color. You actually start to get closer to ultra violet light spectrum, which isn't good.

Ever wear a good pair of sunglasses that block all UV light? They make it so you can see so much better, clearer, and without making things darker. Do you know why that is? It's because they are filtering out the light that's above 5500K typically.

Do what you want, but nothing screams Pep Boys headlights like blue tinted lights. You don't see them on Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, Lexus, Infinnitis, Saabs or any other manufacturer that uses HIDs and there is a safety reason for it.

This may help you from my post a while back... https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...eadlights.html

55 ballast and 4500K is the best idea for lights and with tinted headlights I would definately recommend swapping your fogs out as well. Anything you lose because of tinted lights will be helped by the fogs picking up the slack.
