Default C5R Paint Scheme Contest

We are building a C5R SS Camaro and need your help. The graphic artist we hired to do the paint scheme on the car neglected to provide us with a rear end design for the wrap around checkers. I will pay $100 to the single person who provides the best design that completes the wrap around checkers. The sides are fine; please concentrate your efforts on the rear. The rear hatch cannot be used, it will remain a solid Cobalt Blue. You photo shop wizards have at it and good luck.

A winner WILL be selected Sunday at 6pm EST.

Use this sample to start from;

Email your results to support@rtmi.com

Also check out the rest of the project at www.prols1.com

Thanks for your help.

I can't draw it, but I think something like the checker parts have a rip effect - like you just flew through a checkered flag.

Here is mine nothing fancy just completing the scheme.

The fade out on the rear should match the hood stripe, that's the best i could do in photoshop.

There isnt too much you can do with that small of a space.

Is it just the bumper you wanted done?

Or the whole backend?

2K1SO1LESS,

The rear bumper and above is what I'm looking for. A wrap around checker design would be totally cool and any thoughts towards that will be appreciated. Maybe we could bring the Cobalt blue into the design, Please feel free to adlib and propagate this thought. I feel the paint shop has done a wonderful job, but any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

Just a thought...

I didn't make a picture, but had some thoughts on the matter.

I saw 2K1SO1LESS picture and decided to change it and build from there:

Bring the cobalt blue from the hatch all the way down to the edge of the yellow area and bring it to a point.

Then bring in the checkered areas, but not in perfect squares, but instead curvy like on the side of the car. Eliminating the orange and yellow 2K1SO1LESS had put there.

On the bumper where there is nothing but blue and no license plate I had an idea as well... The white stripe that goes down next to the bumper on the side of the car should be continued. Understood that is seems as though it is already going under the bumper, but bring the white stripe up from under the bumper and across the bumper, including the license plate area, then back under to complete its symmetrical cycle.

Well, unfortunately I don't have access to Photoshop here in Kosovo right now, but I wanted to at least try it with MSPaint.. The quality could be better, but you get the general idea. The spoiler would stay blue, but possibly also include a finish to the front stripes.

I like what 2K1SO1LESS has done. You can build on his idea and add a little flare to it with a little shadow trickery. I'll describe it best I can in words and maybe someone can transfer it to 'paint' - working with 2K1SO1LESS, instead of just stopping the checkered pattern at the orange, have the checkers come apart and look like they are flying off the car starting before the orange strip and continue over the stripe. Have some of the squares from the checkered pattern bending and twisting as they are flying off the back of the car. There's really not much room to work with on the back of the car.

Thanks for the schemes and ideas. But with the limited bumper space and current checker design, we have decided not to wrap the checkers at this time. So the contest winner will be the design we appreciated the most and that was 2K1SO1LESS. Once again, for all that responded, thanks for the suggestions.

The car should be finished this week, see www.prols1.com for the final paint scheme.

2K1SO1LESS check your PM.
