LED Switchback DRL Size for Trans Am
I'm looking to get some LED switchback for the daytime running lamps. Does anyone know what the largest tower size is that fits the 98+ Trans Am daytime running lamps? I know the Camaros are pretty tight fitment-wise but what about the Trans Ams?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've got mine coming in this week (larger LED version 48's). If you can, measure the depth of the 98+ housing and when mine come in, I will simply measure how tall the 48's are.
By measure, I mean to remove the lamp and insert a tape measure to the base.

I was going to ask you if you had measurements. I ordered some new drl housings. I'll measure them once I get them in. Don't really feel like crawling under my car right now. Is there anywhere online that shows the size specs for these bulbs?

I don't have my lamps yet so I couldn't tell you. By the time your new housings come in, I will have my LED towers and we can compare notes.

The vleds are bright as hell (rated at 5000k or you can order 6000k) and are still perfect going on 1 month so far. I ordered 5000k to match my HID's. Also, you don't need to change your flasher unit to use these. So no headaches!

I was thinking about doing this but v-leds.com has this to say about these switchback bulbs...
"Warning! If your vehicle is equipped with Daytime Running Lights that function through this bulb you cannot use it."

Can anybody chime in on this? I really hate the dull look of the DRLs and since one of mine went out..this would be the perfect time to upgrade (if possible)

Could you tell me where you got yours from? Maybe v-LEDs aren't the way to go.

Im pretty sure that's what they mean. I got a non switch back pair for around $60.00 from VLEDS.com. They sell the switchbacks too for those interested. I know it seems pricey, but I put in a set of cheap led bulbs from ebay in there and they fizzled out in a weeks time. Not even superbrightleds.com sells ones that are strong enough. All of their bulbs that fit say "not for use with GM drls". The reason is apparently there are some spikes in power going to them and the cheaper leds cant handle it and burn out.

Ok guys. Just got my 48 tower LED switchbacks and they only measure an 1 1/4" deep from the base of the lamp. Even considering the depth of the plug, you will have plenty of room if you have 2.5" to work with.
