my 98z FX-R bixenon retrofit progress
I'm in the process of installing FX-R bixenon projectors on my car. I should hopefully have the project completed next weekend (Sundays are my only day off, progress is slow lol.) The highbeam is taped off because I just painted them, and will be giving them one more coat once I get the shrouds fitted.
Here are the new fogs, 55W 3000K (stock halogen headlights installed):
And here are a couple shots of the new headlights sitting loosely in the car. (I have to trim some of the car's "frame" behind the headlight so the headlight will sit back all the way) They will get aimed once everything is installed, as you can see the cutoff is crooked and the light is pointed waaay left.
****these pictures were taken at 4pm with clear skies, pretty bright out. 5000K 55W D2S. Ignore the quality, pics were taken with my **** iphone. My friend took some with his nikon, those will be posted soon.

yea I'm planning on editing my first post when it's all done with a complete list. The HID kits are DDM, $75 for the D2S 55W low beams with slim ballast, $60 for the 880 55W fogs, relay harnesses $15 a piece (2 total). The projectors were $160 brand new for the pair and I am using a spare set of headlight housings. The mounting procedure/etc will be documented once completed which should be next Sunday if all goes well.

Good start. What are you doing for shrouds? Are you still keeping the stock high beams also?
I've added this thread to the Lighting FAQ:

Let me know when you do the write-up and I'll add that to the Lighting FAQ too.

I'm using ocular shrouds, which are requiring a good deal of modification to make fit. I don't usually take pics of stuff so the first half of the retrofit writeup will literally just be written lol.

a civic, a mustang, and an altima in the driveway yuck (AND SLOW)! Good think you got good tastes in cars, should get an IROC sticker for that thing because you ROCK and I wish I could do something like that to my car. I may try them Hella 90mm ones.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

I don't know of any sponsors that sell them so I'm pretty sure I can provide this link. I got them from www.theretrofitsource.com they are FX-R projectors. 160 for the pair, then 40 for the shrouds. I purchased the ocular shrouds which require a good deal of shaving down to fit, but I think they will look nice.
