Well, I wet sanded my tails smooth today. Sprayed 3 coats of vht on them. They look much better already. I'm going to let them dry untill tomorrow afternoon. Then I'll put the lights back on the car and take pics! But I can already see how much better they look without the letters on them.

blackouts don't change the color of the light. you lose some light, but the color itself is not affected.

the red-outs that i have, on now (in my post on the front page) are illegal, since you're supposed to have a whit reverse light. which i don't have because the tint changes any colored light to red.

also, it just wouldn't look good in any other color...

yeah it really cleans them up to get rid of the letters. you dont really notice them when the lights are normal, because the lights are red, yellow, white, with black lines. the letters get lost in the mix. but when they're completely black, with a glossy finish, the letters stand out a lot more.

Here is my old setup. These damn covers+hot filament bulbs warped my old tails, so I got some newer ones and only blacked out the amber section. I'll try and get a pic later
